BMW M340i

Introduction

At India’s first-ever music and driving festival, appropriately dubbed “Joy Town,” BMW India unveiled the new and improved M340i. There will be three different times for the two-day brand experience event. The first one was held in Delhi, where the XM, the newest flagship of the M-Division, joined the M340i.We had the opportunity to get close-up and personal with the M340i souped-up in M Performance components. So let’s examine its further specifics.

Exterior

The top-of-the-line 3 Series model is thehttps://automobilesinfo.in/bmw/ M340i. We will soon see the introduction of the new 3 Series facelift as well, as the M340i spearheads the model attack for the updated BMW line-up. Prior to that, though, we have the upgraded M340i.

The headlamps on thehttps://auto.hindustantimes.com/new-cars/bmw/m340i BMW M340i look crisper as part of the upgrade. The 3 Series’ iconic angel lighting are gone, replaced by BMW’s most recent design, which features twin eyebrow-like features. It also receives the Adaptive LED with blue accents from the Bavarian automaker. The kidney grille on the M340i is typically distinct from the basic 3’s kidney grille, but with the M Performance pack, the more svelte grille additionally receives a distinctive mesh style completed in piano black. The lower, more aggressive-looking bumper is the next feature. The fascia looks even meaner thanks to the carbon-fibre splitter included in the M Performance kit.

The ORVMs and our display car’s rear sport wing both have additional carbon fibre. Dravit Grey was used to complete the colour scheme you can see in the photographs. But in addition to that, you may also choose to have your M340i painted in Mineral White, Black Sapphire, or Tanzanite Blue. The wing spoiler, which is a component of the M Performance package, completes the M340i’s stance while not drawing attention to itself. Gloss black is also used for the 19-inch M light alloy wheels found on the 791 M-specific wheels. The bottom diffuser, which is now more noticeable than previously, is then covered in additional carbon fibre finishes. The dual trapezoidal tips from the M Performance exhaust flank the diffusers.

Interior

Along with the redesigned front, the cabin also receives a significant makeover. First and foremost, the M340i introduces India to BMW’s newest curved display. The new BMW curved display combines a 12.3-inch driver’s display with a 14.9-inch infotainment touchscreen into a single floating panel. The screens support all current connectivity options and run the most recent OS8 version of the iDrive. Even the gear lever is a novel design. A single slot-type switch for the gear selector is used in place of the BMW cabin’s typical and recognisable gear lever.

The rest of the cabin is largely unaltered. The bucket seats and leather-wrapped steering wheel have M-specific upholstery with the Sensatec/Alcantara wrap, and the centre console contains well-known buttons. The headliner and various trims with carbon fibre finishes make extensive use of anthracite. The digital instrument cluster and front door sills have the writing “M340i” on them as further unique design elements.

The M340i comes with a sunroof, ambient lighting with six colours, three-zone climate control, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, a heads-up display, a wireless charger, and connected car technology. Six airbags, attention assistance, an anti-lock braking system (abs) with brake assist, dynamic stability control, dynamic traction control, cornering brake control, an electric parking brake with auto hold, side-impact protection, an electronic vehicle immobiliser and crash sensors, run-flat tyres with a tyre pressure indicator, ISOFIX mounts, and an integrated emergency spare wheel are all standard safety features for the new BMW M340i.

Engine

The M340i’s powertrain has undergone just minor alterations as a result of the facelift. You still have access to the 3.0-liter turbocharged straight-six with 500Nm of twisting torque and close to 375 bhp. All four wheels receive equal power distribution from the xDrive, which is routed through an eight-speed automatic. There isn’t a handbook here yet and never will be. But with this specification, you do receive the M Sport exhaust. The new M340i is the fastest BMW ever made in India, reaching 100 kilometres per hour in 4.4 seconds.

An M-Sport suspension with a 10mm lower ride height is among the additional hardware. Additionally, it comes with variable sport steering (VSS), which modifies steering response in accordance with the velocity and M Sport brake callipers with blue paint and a M emblem on them.

Now, in addition to the M340i, the brand-new XM was also launched at Joy Town. The XM was created by the M Division entirely from scratch and is not based on any typical BMW model.
